WEST CHESTER HOSPITAL RANKED IN TOP 10 OF CINCINNATI HOSPITALS BY U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT

West Chester Hospital

It was announced last week that West Chester Hospital ranked in seventh place out of the Cincinnati area’s 38 hospitals and was ranked number 26 when compared to the state’s 230 hospitals. The list was announced as part of U.S. News & World Report’s annual hospital ranking program.

This announcement comes on the heels of West Chester Hospital’s announcement of expansion plans which included the recent addition of 17 patient beds to the existing tower and the future addition of a second tower to serve the community’s health care needs. UC Health made public its plans for a $135 million expansion to include maternity and obstetrics.

U.S. News & World Report’s rankings identify Orthopaedics and Nephrology as “high performing specialties” and also awarded high marks in areas of patient safety and demonstrating commitment to reducing accidents and medical mistakes.

In addition to the exceptional medical services made available to the residents of the community, West Chester Hospital’s ongoing commitment and its strategic business plan demonstrates a sustainable model that will benefit not only West Chester, but the region for generations to come.

West Chester Hospital’s impact on the local economy since its opening in 2009 goes significantly beyond the initial investment made. The hospital has been the stimulus for a growing medical-related industry in West Chester, has added jobs, and has injected millions of dollars into the local economy through direct and complementary services.

West Chester Hospital’s initial construction in 2009 benefitted the local economy through direct and indirect new employment, products, goods, and supply purchases, and services generation.  Using standard formulas to estimate local economic impact, West Chester Hospital in its current state stimulates $824,000,000 in economic activity; directly and indirectly accounts for 4,786 full and part-time jobs, including the 676 full-time equivalent employees at the hospital itself; and supports approximately $205,000,000 in total household earnings.
