West Chester firms wins contract to fix Ky. Speedway roads

Sunesis Construction Co. of West Chester won a $3.7 million contract to fix some of the roadways near the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta.

The Speedway ran into big problems this year when it hosted its inaugural NASCAR Sprint Cup race. Roads and parking lots at the track were clogged for hours while race fans tried to make their way to the event.

WLWT.com reports that Sunesis crews will widen an exit ramp and a highway and construct a pedestrian tunnel. The Speedway also is expanding its parking lot space.
