A West Chester contractor has won a $2.7 million contract to improve the Dayton International Airport, Dayton Business Journal reports.

Sunesis Construction will realign and reconstruct a portion of Perimeter Road, demolish 10 buildings, remove utilities, provide asbestos abatement work, cap work and create site improvements at the airport.

The company won a contract rebid against four other firms. The city engineer had estimated the project would cost $3.75 million.

About $2 million in funding for the project will come from AIP Grant funds, while the remainder will be paid with city aviation capital funds.
