TriHealth doctors plan expansion in West Chester

Group Health Associates, a TriHealth physician practice, will build a 50,000-square-foot medical office building in West Chester.

The structure will sit on a seven-acre parcel at 8040 Princeton-Glendale Road/State Route 747. The practice is leaving room to expand the two-story building later to 75,000 square feet if needed.

A price estimate was not disclosed.

The project, which is pending final rezoning approval, comes as hospital systems across the region seek to expand their outpatient presence. Offering more preventive care and keeping patients out of the hospital will be key to containing costs under health care reform.

Group Health consists of more than 130 doctors at eight locations. They practice in 18 specialties, with a focus on internal and family medicine.

The group joined forces with TriHealth, which operates Good Samaritan and Bethesda North hospitals, in 2004. The number of physicians under the TriHealth umbrella has grown continually since, reaching about 350 this year. Groups include TriHealth Physician Partners and Queen City Physicians.

Group Health opened an eight-story, $27 million medical office building on the Good Samaritan campus in August.

TriHealth also announced plans last year for a 22,000-square-foot medical office building in Anderson Township on Asbury Road off Beechmont Avenue.
