One of Greater Cincinnati's largest private companies headquartered in West Chester is planning to expand its facility and add to its workforce.

Planes Moving & Storage Inc. and Global Workplace Solutions, known as Planes Cos., received approval on Monday for a 0.693 percent, five-year tax credit from the Ohio Tax Credit Authority to expand its headquarters facility and add 30 new jobs.

The firm, which is an agency of United Van Lines, offers household, office and logistics moving at local, interstate and international level. It will provide total capital investment of $3 million. That includes the creation of $1.2 million in new annual payroll and a 65,000-square-foot warehouse expansion at the site of its existing 225,00-square-foot warehouse at 9823 Cincinnati-Dayton Road.

An expansion of its facility in Indiana was also being considered pending the tax credits’ approval.

The company will be required to maintain operations at the project location for at least eight years and is expected to retain more than $12 million in existing payroll and 229 employees as a result of the project.

Planes Cos. was on the Inc. 500 list in 2013 and 2014 and is No. 96 on the Courier's list of largest private companies with 2014 revenue of $111.31 million and 420 employees.

A Planes Cos. spokesperson wasn’t immediately available to comment on the expansion plans on Monday afternoon.
