WEST CHESTER TWP. —

A 125-bed nursing facility is planned in West Chester just south of an existing assisted living and rehabilitation development.

The Hillandale Family of Communities plans to construct Carepointe Nursing, a 105,088-square-foot one- and two-story building just south of Hillandale’s Chesterwood Village, according to plans approved by the township’s zoning commission.

Located on 7.54 acres along Chesterwood Boulevard, just 890 feet south of Tylersville Road, the facility would combine nursing home and office use, according to submitted plans.

The facility will include rooms of approximately 306 square feet per unit and landscaped areas within the facility.

In addition to the 125 units, amenities will include a pool, therapy room, library, barbershop/salon, chapel, patient dining areas, patient kitchen, nursing stations, bathing areas and a laundry/utility room, plans show.

Established in 1962, the Hillandale Family of Communities includes Chesterwood Village in West Chester Twp. and Doverwood Village and Birchwood Village in Fairfield Twp.

West Chester Twp. Administrator Judi Boyko said township officials are pleased Hillandale Communities is expanding its medical services offered at the Chesterwood Village campus.

“Many of the 3,000 businesses in the township are home grown and family enterprises that enhance the diversity of our economic portfolio,” Boyko said. “It’s even more meaningful when the quality of people’s lives are improved.”

Hillandale Communities officials did not respond to requests for further comment, including how many jobs the new facility would create and when it would open.
