Einstein Bros. Bagels opened Oct. 14 at 9216 Allen Road in West Chester.

This is the second Einstein Bros. Bagels store in Greater Cincinnati. The chain offers fresh bagels, coffee drinks, sandwiches and sweets.

“We hope to be a positive addition to the Union Centre area,” said Doug Newman, CEO of Newman Development Group, the group that helped bring the first Einstein’s to Cincinnati. “We hope the customers like the experience, the food and the atmosphere.”

Newman, who lives in Cincinnati, said he first began thinking about bringing Einstein’s to the area a couple years ago.

He thinks Cincinnati is an attractive market, and he’s a big fan of Einstein’s product.

“I travel quite a bit,” he said. “Einstein is quite big throughout the U.S., not just in Cincinnati.”

Newman opened the first Cincinnati Einstein Bros. Bagels last year at U Square in Clifton Heights. Since then, business has been good, Newman said.

“Everyone loves it,” he said. “People are familiar with the brand who are transplants or who travel. People who didn’t know about it before now like it.”

Newman hopes to open a couple more stores, but it’s too soon to tell where. He also doesn’t know definitively how many stores he will open.

Einstein Bros. Bagels in West Chester will be offering discounts and giving away free drinks through Friday in honor of the grand opening.

Oct. 24 will be the final day of festivities. The first 300 customers through the door Saturday will receive free coffee for 30 days with purchase. Melvyn and Elmo Einstein, the founders of Einstein Bros. Bagels, will also be there.
