WEST CHESTER TWP. —

A family-friendly restaurant chain with a presence in 30 states nationwide is taking steps to come to Butler County.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers recently filed an application with West Chester Twp. for a 3,200-square-foot restaurant with drive-thru at 7615 Trailside Drive on a 1.45-acre outlot in front of Cabela’s.

Menu highlights of Freddy’s include lean ground beef steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs and shoestring fries, as well as custard treats prepared with freshly churned chocolate or vanilla frozen custard.

As the West Chester Twp. location is a proposed and not yet official site, the Freddy’s franchisee proposing it does not yet have a projected opening date or hiring information.

“Although we are unable to formally confirm at this time that we will be coming to West Chester, we’re strongly considering West Chester because of its family-oriented community,” said Matt Saunders, head of development for PSP Foods, the Freddy’s franchisee proposing the West Chester site. “We feel it’s a great match for our family-friendly restaurant concept.”

A Freddy’s opened April 19 at 907 State Route 28 in Milford. Freddy’s also can also be found in Amelia at 3792 Waterford Parkway.
