A Kent, Ohio-based metal and steel tubing supplier is expanding its presence in Greater Cincinnati.

Industrial Tube & Steel Corp. is building a $5 million, 80,000-square-foot facility in West Chester. Sharonville-based Design Build Solutions LLC broke ground on the new office/warehouse facility for the supplier this week.

Currently, Industrial Tube & Steel occupies a 50,000-square-foot building on Crescent Park Drive. Bob Snyder, branch manager for Industrial Tube & Steel, said the 26-employee operation expects to add up to five employees in the next couple years as a result of the expansion.

“We’re tied up in this place,” Snyder said of the company’s existing space. “We’ll be able to expand our product line, and it gives us a lot more room for growth.”

Industrial Tube & Steel is scheduled to move into its new facility in July 2014.

About 8,000 square feet of the new building is dedicated to office space. The remainder is warehouse and manufacturing space.

The new building is designed for two expansions that would increase the size of the building to 150,000 square feet. Snyder said he hopes the company needs the first expansion within five years.

Industrial Tube & Steel buys its materials from steel mills and sells to a range of customers from fabricators to machine shops. It specializes in custom cutting and sawing, as well as delivery. Customers include Cast-Fab Technologies and OPW.
