Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt opened Friday its first of three upcoming locations in Greater Cincinnati.

Menchie’s Beckett Ridge, a franchise location of the fast-growing frozen yogurt concept, is opening in West Chester at 8177 Princeton Glendale Road.

“I was at the point in life where I was ready to reinvent myself and wanted to own a business with a model that matches my objectives in life, which are community involvement and guest experience,” Jim Hach, owner of Menchie’s Beckett Ridge, said in a news release.

Menchie’s is the second-fastest growing limited service chain behind another frozen yogurt concept, Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt, according to Technomic Inc. Sales at Menchie’s rose to $89.7 million last year from $48 million in 2010, a nearly 87 percent increase.

In addition to the West Chester store, Menchie’s operates a store in Mason and plans to open locations in Fairfield near Jungle Jim’s International Market and at Pleasant Valley Commons in Florence.

The store will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.

Menchie’s has 200 locations open in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Australia, Puerto Rico and Guam, with another 250 stores in development.
