GE Aviation in Evendale and its partner Snecma in France have landed an agreement valued at more than $450 million to supply engines for 22 Airbus A320 jets for ICBC Financial Leasing Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC).

The order, calling for deliveries in 2012, is the largest by the Chinese leasing company.  All of ICBC’s new engines will be the CFM56-5B performance improvement package (PIP) configuration.  The engine improvements, which have completed extensive ground testing and more than 26 hours of flight testing on the A320, are slated for certification and entry into service by the end of this year.
