Miami University’s Voice of America Learning Center (VOALC) opened for classes in January 2009 with 389 students registered in 28 courses and workshops. Today the VOALC serves over 550 students registered in 41 courses and workshops, with a full schedule of courses and workshops set in place for the coming summer months. Combining undergraduate and graduate courses and programs from Miami’s Hamilton, Middletown, and Oxford campuses, the Center is home to the Farmer School of Business’ Professional MBA program, which is currently recruiting for its Fall 2010 class that will begin this August. Area educators are enjoying the convenience of having graduate courses in education so close to home and work, and taking advantage of Miami’s TEAM scholarship which supports their professional development. Undergraduate students have an array of daytime and evening course and program options, including the Bachelor’s of Integrative Studies baccalaureate program from Miami’s regional campuses. The Center is home to Miami’s Corporate & Community Institute which provides customized corporate training and professional development, and which has teamed this spring with Butler County United Way for a non-profit board certification program to help develop tomorrow’s leaders. Hosting a number of events is the VOALC Community and Alumni network, including an ongoing series of art exhibitions featuring the works of Miami alumni and professors, community forums through the Towers Series which it sponsors with The Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty, and a number of family oriented performances developed in collaboration with the Fine Arts Fund.

Helping Hands Childcare, early childhood education facility serving children six weeks to 12 years old, announced it will open a 5,040 square-foot daycare at 7443 Dimmick Road west of Cincinnati-Columbus Road/U.S. Route 42.  Helping Hands Childcare is slated to open December 2013. 

ABC’s & 123’s Early Learning Center, a full-service daycare and preschool, opened a 3,200 square-foot facility at 8633 Cincinnati-Columbus Road/SR42 north of Cox Road (Pisgah District). ABC’s & 123’s accepts children from 6 weeks to 12 years old.
