The opening of the Union Centre Boulevard in December 1997 brought a dramatic change in the development pattern in the greater Cincinnati area. Union Centre Boulevard has quickly become the preferred business location in the tri-state region. Since the opening of the interchange more than 20 years ago, West Chester has reaped more than $3.66 billion in new investment, more than 37 million square feet in new construction, and nearly 43,000 new jobs.

The photo gallery features images of new office, industrial, commercial, educational, medical and technical facilities that have been constructed in West Chester Township.

Contingent Network Services, a national IT services company specializing in a wide array of information technology services focused primarily on design, deployment and support of WAN and LAN infrastructure, announced it will relocate and expand its existing West Chester business. Contingent broke ground on its new 50,000 square-foot corporate headquarters at 4370 Port Union Road west of Princeton-Glendale Road/SR747. This $3.5 million project, located on an 18-acre development called the Eco-Tech Park, will be the tri-state’s first ‘green’ office park featuring environmentally friendly solar electricity, recycled building materials, extensive natural lighting, and an irrigation system using reclaimed water. Contingent has approximately 80 employees. Additional acreage is available for further ‘green’ developments. www.contingent.net

Projects include two Procter & Gamble research and development facilities at their Beckett Ridge Technical Center, an 860,000 square foot office/distribution/retail facility for Cornerstone Consolidated Group, and a 760,000 square foot Class A office park developed by Duke Realty. These projects along with others have created nearly 26,000 in the Union Centre district alone. 


The "Vision" of Union Center Boulevard was to create a new development that possessed the "Attention to Details" necessary to create an interchange and development unrivaled throughout the entire region. 

The phrases "Attention to Detail" and "Vision" have driven the Union Centre Boulevard development since the early planning stages. Examples of these details include a customized safety fence on the bridge overpass, featuring the Union Centre logo, the completion of Union Centre Boulevard as a limited access landscaped median road to enhance traffic flow, color coordination of the bridge, integrated closed looped traffic signals, and customized landscape plan for the interchange area. 

To continue the "Vision" of the Union Centre development, a new zoning classification was created to enhance and encourage the unique mixed-use development that will occur at Union Centre. This new zoning classification, designated as "Central Business District", will include benefits such as pedestrian walkways and signage and landscaping standards that will create a highly desirable, cohesive development.
