An outstanding variety of cultural, recreational, entertainment and sports activities are available within West Chester and the Greater Cincinnati area. Cultural activities include the nationally recognized Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Cincinnati Ballet, the Cincinnati Opera, the Cincinnati Art Museum, the Contemporary Arts Center, and the Museum Center at Union Terminal. Sporting events include the Cincinnati Reds, the Cincinnati Bengals and annual ATP professional men's tennis and Senior PGA golf tournaments. Other activities include the world renowned Cincinnati Zoo, Paramount's Kings Island, and Oktoberfest-Zinzinnati, the world's largest next to the original in Munich.

Education
Located in southwestern Ohio, Lakota is the 8th largest school district in the state, and the largest school district in Butler County. With two high schools, a freshman school, four junior schools, and twelve elementary schools, Lakota has grown in the last 20 years from a rural district to a suburban district with student population of over 17,000.

Lakota East High School
To continue to provide the excellent education opportunities for the students of the Lakota Local School District, two new high schools opened for the 1997-98 school year. These two new schools, each with a capacity of 1,800 students, provide state of the art facilities with an increased opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities.
Lakota West High School
The school district serving West Chester is the Lakota School District. The district is currently comprised of 17 schools which serve over 16,000 students. The Lakota School District has an outstanding reputation for both academic and extra-curricular activities.
Academically, the Lakota School District consistently ranks as one of the best in Butler County, and routinely significantly outscores the State of Ohio averages on a number of tests. For ninth grade students taking the High School Proficiency Test, Lakota students have a passing rate of 75%, versus a State of Ohio average of 58%.
Higher Education
Over 13 institutions of higher education are located within 30 miles of West Chester. These include the University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, Miami University, Miami University-Hamilton, Miami University-Middletown, Northern Kentucky University, College of Mt. St. Joseph, Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, University of Dayton, University of Phoenix, Indiana Wesleyan, and Wright State University. Adult Workforce Education Division
Butler Tech
Butler Tech is the second largest career-technical school district in the state of Ohio. Since 1975, they have provided educational experiences for Butler County high school students, and adult students throughout southwestern Ohio.
Butler Tech's Adult Workforce Education Division serves over 10,000 students annually with a diverse array of educational programming. Adult courses focus on high impact training designed to give students the skills they need to succeed in the workforce.
Individual classes or entire programs can be customized to the needs of companies that want to improve the skill set and boost the productivity of their current workforce. Additionally, Butler Tech's customized assessment services can help employers identify employment candidates who are more likely to succeed on the job, or current employees who can best capitalize on advancement opportunities.
Butler Tech has recently received the Achievement of Excellence Award from the Ohio Partnership for Excellence. As the only Ohio school district to achieve this distinction in 2006, Butler Tech continues to deliver on their promise of Education Beyond Expectation.
