West Chester Development Council ACTIVITIES
In late 1996, the Union Township Trustees created the West Chester Development Council to serve as the community's economic development agency. In this role, the West Chester Development Council is responsible for the implementation of West Chester's economic development program. This activity includes business attraction and retention, marketing and promotion, and the local facilitation of tax and financial incentive programs in Union Township.
The West Chester Development Council assists current businesses interested in expanding the Union Township and other businesses interested in locating a new operation to West Chester.
West Chester Development Council OPERATION
The West Chester Development Council was established to function as a public/private partnership. Utilizing this structure, the West Chester Development Council can combine the inherent benefits of both sectors to maximize the development potential in Union Township.
Public sector support is provided by Union Township Trustees, while over 20 companies provide the private sector support, via the Private Partnership program. The Private Partnership Program is a unique program that allows those companies that are stakeholders in the economic development effort in Union Township to participate in the process.
Depending of the level of financial support, partner companies receive benefits such as membership on the West Chester Development Council Advisory Committee and a listing in the West Chester Development Council Web page, www.utcic.com. A current list of Full Level Partners can be found on the back page of the newsletter.
For further information on the opportunities available to businesses looking to expand in Union Township, or those companies that are interested in participating in the Private Partnership Program, please contact Matt Bockhorst, West Chester Development Council President, at (513) 755-4214.
