Enterprise Zone Continues to Produce Results

West Chester continues to successfully utilize the Enterprise Zone program to promote the expansion of existing companies and the location of new companies to the township. Specifically, the Enterprise Zone program is used to encourage the investment of additional capital and the creation of additional employment opportunities in West Chester.

During 1999, six projects received approval for tax exemptions. Combined, the six projects are scheduled to result in the investment of more than $130 million dollars and the creation and retention of almost 500 employment positions in West Chester. These projects will also result in the construction of an additional 1.1 million square feet of new buildings.

The six companies receiving an Enterprise Zone agreement are Pipe Products, Inc., Promax Automotive/Isuzu Motors America, Enable Medical Corporation, Model Graphics & Media, CL Zimmerman, and General Motors.

During the last three years, 1997-1999, the implementation of the Enterprise Zone program in West Chester will have led to the investment of more than $500 million dollars, the creation and retention of more than 5,000 employment positions, and the construction of an additional 4 million square feet of buildings in West Chester.
