Enable Medical Corporation
Enable Medical Corporation expanded its operations at its current West Chester location in 1999 investing $450,000 and 40 jobs. The company develops new technologies to enable surgeons to perform procedures in new, safer, faster, more cost effective ways.
Gaiam, Inc., dba Seventh Generation Catalog
Gaiam, Inc. relocated to a larger facility in West Chester in 1999. The company is leasing approximately 200,000 square feet in a building owned by Duke-Weeks Realty Corporation, a WC Development Council Full Level Partner.
General Electric Engine Services
General Electric Engine Services constructed an 85,000 square foot aircraft parts repair center in the Township in 1999, bringing 139 jobs and an investment of $39,000,000.
General Electric Aircraft Services has leased 60,000 square feet of Class A office space at Centre Pointe Office Park. The Centre Pointe operation will house the sales function for GE Aircraft Engines and GE Power System.
General Motors
General Motors constructed a new 352,000 square foot parts distribution center in the Township in 1999. This new center, which replaced an existing center currently located just south of the Township, in Sharonville, Ohio, services General Motors dealers in a five-state area. This represented a $39,000,000 investment and 185 jobs for West Chester.
Isuzu Motors America
Isuzu Motrs America constructed a new 620,000 square foot parts distribution Center in the Township in 1999 which resulted in a $88,150,000 investment. This new facility brought with it 90 jobs and replaced three existing facilities east of the Rocky Mountains, leaving only two. This new facility and an existing facility in California will remain to serve the country. Promax Automotive, Inc., relocated its corporate headquarters to the new facility, and will lease the building and operate the distribution center for Isuzu.
Office Depot
Office Depot moved into a new 250,000 square foot building in 1999 for their regional business-to-business processing center operations. This represented a $25,800,000 investment and created 247 jobs for West Chester. The facility provides office space and a fulfillment center for orders from businesses in the region.
Pipe Products, Inc.
Pipe Products, Inc. completed a $2,360,000 expansion in West Chester in 1999. This is the third location in West Chester for the company as it has grown over the last ten years. This latest expansion consisted of the construction of a 62,000 square foot office, distribution and fabrication facility housing approximately 70 employees.
Procter & Gamble Manufacturing and Supply Technology
Procter & Gamble's Manufacturing and Supply Technology Group was the second P&G facility to open in West Chester Township in October of 1999. The Group, located on 25.6 acres at 8256 Union Centre Boulevard, provides manufacturing systems to make design and lab ideas a manufacturing reality. The 295,000-square-foot facility houses 400 employees in the offices and laboratories of the P&G Global Product Supply and Engineering Research & Development groups within the building. This organization has responsibility for developing new manufacturing systems for many of the Company's diverse new and existing products. The research and development work involves literature research, analytical bench scale testing of products and intermediate products, manufacturing equipment prototyping and testing, manufacturing equipment design, pilot plan production of small quantities of materials for subsequent technical testing and the full scale technical testing of some manufacturing unit operations. Total investment for this project was $31,064,000.
RPS Package Distribution Center
RPS Package Distribution Center, a small package delivery courier, constructed an 85,000 square foot facility on Inter Ocean Drive in West Chester during 1999 to allow for increased distribution space and effficiency of operation.
Skidmore Sales & Distribution
Skidmore Sales & Distribution, a sales and distribution company selling exclusively to food manufacturers, erected a 120,000 square foot building on Cincinnati-Dayton Road in 1998. The project's total investment exceeded $12,000,000.
